Sliding & Bypass Frameless Shower Doors
Two 10 mm tempered panels that glide past each other on a top-mounted roller bar, with no metal frame around the glass. Sliding frameless shower doors are the answer when a hinged door would swing into a vanity, a toilet, or the narrow galley bathrooms common in Toronto condos. They also suit wide openings and tub alcoves where a single pivot door would be oversized. The roller hardware is matched to the same finish as your pulls and brackets, from the same CRL, Richelieu, FMF, or Obsidian line, and the panels are cut to your laser-measured opening like every other shower enclosure we build. Steam Shower Enclosures
A steam shower enclosure has to hold vapour, not just water. A proper steam shower seals glass full-height to the ceiling with a sealed transom or an operable vent panel, so vapour is contained rather than escaping into the bathroom. We upgrade to 12 mm tempered glass for steam enclosures, and the taller panels and extra hardware are reflected in our estimator's steam rate — 1.25× the glass rate, so $62.50 per square foot in 12 mm. Bathtub Screens & Tub Doors
A fixed or hinged glass tub screen is one of the most popular ways to upgrade a bathtub-shower combo without a full renovation. We laser-measure the tub deck and wall, then fabricate a 10 mm tempered panel — fixed, single-swing, or folding — finished to match your hardware. It is usually a same-day install, and it ends the mildew-and-replace cycle of a fabric curtain or sliding track. If you would rather convert the tub alcove into a walk-in frameless shower, the same laser-measure process applies once the new base and tile are finished. Replacing an old framed shower door
Many of the frameless shower doors we install in Toronto replace something that was already there: an aluminum-framed slider, a semi-framed door with a corroded bottom rail, or a builder-grade enclosure that never sealed properly. We remove the existing framed or semi-framed shower enclosure and install a new frameless unit in its place. Old-enclosure removal and haul-away is a $250 add-on on your quote, so demolition and installation happen in the same visit.
Because a frameless glass shower door is fabricated to the millimetre against your actual walls, the laser measure happens after the old frame is out and the tile beneath it is finished and grouted. Your new shower enclosure is then covered by our 5-year written workmanship warranty: a panel that fails from a workmanship issue is replaced at no charge, and breakage from impact, misuse, or thermal stress gets expedited replacement at material cost. 10 mm tempered glass — the standard that holds.
Tempered safety glass is the only glass allowed by code in shower enclosures (OBC Division B, Section 9.6 — Glass; ANSI Z97.1). Tempering heats the glass to 620°C then rapidly cools it, creating surface compression that makes it four to five times stronger than annealed (standard) glass of the same thickness.
When tempered glass does break — which is rare — it shatters into small, rounded granules rather than long shards. This is the safety characteristic that makes it mandatory in wet and high-traffic locations.
