Showers and mirrors don't need permits. Exterior deck guards and stair railings usually do, through the City of Mississauga under Ontario Building Code Part 9 — typically 2 to 4 weeks. Lakefront railing jobs also get marine-grade 316 hardware specified as standard. Requirement confirmed at your measure, OBC documentation included.

Yes. Older Port Credit homes — particularly Victorian revival and 1920s–1940s stock — often have walls that are not plumb and alcoves that are not square. Our laser measuring system captures every angle and dimension precisely, and the glass is fabricated to match. We do not cut corners to make a non-standard space accept a standard panel. If a space is out of square, we measure it out of square and build it that way.

Mississauga Building Division is generally considered one of the more efficient permit offices in the GTA for residential work, which is useful when a railing permit is on the critical path of your renovation timeline. We supply OBC-compliant 10mm and 12mm tempered glass and provide engineering documentation for your permit application on request. Condo buildings near Square One may have additional building-specific requirements — confirm with your property management before starting.
